The Panasonic Lumix models DSC TZ-2 to TZ-5 have a problem that is even addressed in the original manual (picture left).

It is easily possible to damage the valuable Leitz lens with your finger or another object that comes in contact with it through the inefficient lens barrier.

We have solved this problem for you. Instead of paying the price of a new camera if you damage the lens, our custom made lens cover only costs US$ 10.45 plus Shipping & Handling, plus tax (tax only in California) and protects your valuable camera from lens damage.

The cover simply pops off the lens when you turn the camera on. It does not damage the lens.

Many thanks for sending the Lumix lenscap. It arrived in this morning's post. The lens cap is a real insurance against accidentally damaging the lens cover which appears just a little on the fragile side. It fits snugly over the lens mounting and does not impede the insertion of the camera in a fitted camera case. One small feature I would like to see added would be to put a 18% gray disk in the cap instead of the white one that is there thus allowing for using in a photograph to get the correct white balance for those more advanced users who treat their photos in programs such as Photoshop and the like.
